Waiting period is or was unacceptable!!!

Mr. Shane Garcia, Member Service Assistant, was most professional, patient, detailed oriented and knowledgeable when I had a fraudulent transaction which took all my savings from my account last week Thursday, 11/21/24. He was like an Angel sent to assist me!! It would be a blessing to have all banking personnel to be like him. I decided to go to tropical financial to refinance my car loan because they had the best rates in town. I went through the entire process of having my previous bank loan being canceled, just for them to send me a letter in the mail telling me that my insurance deductible is too high and that if this isn’t adjusted, that my monthly car payment will increase tremendously.

I’ve never experienced this before and I wish that this was disclosed earlier on in the process. The whole purpose of me refinancing was so that I could get a lower rate, however my insurance premium would have to increase to fulfill tropical financials request.

I’m pretty turned off from the entire experience and plan to refinance with another bank.

I had such a wonderful and positive experience with Briana Britton yesterday at Tropical Financial Credit Union. Briana is a great ambassador for Tropical. She worked efficiently and effortlessly. I felt taken care of she answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns. My expectations were exceeded and anyone who wants to be treated with first class customer service go to Tropical Financial Credit Union!!!

Keaton did a phenomenal job. Helped with car loan pre approval, beneficiary info, advised on account info and took care of credit card. Financial needs were met. He went above and beyond.

I’m over this bank! One of the benefits that sold me to banking with them was that I would get paid early. It has been two years faithfully that I have faithfully done direct deposit with Tropical Financial and NEVER been paid earlier. just saying be ware if you’re looking for bank. It’s a holiday weekend where other banks usually release funds early, not them.

Also they are still out here robbing their customers when it comes to over draft fees. Yes, they will cover the over draft for you and in some instances it makes sense. That is if it is over the $30 overdraft fee. I had a $6 debit and got the $30 overdraft fee. It makes no sense to charge $24……A lot of other banks went through audits and made the changes when it came those obsessive fees.
I suggest doing your research and look into other credit unions or financial institutions cause this one is not it.
I also bank the Navy Credit Union and other institutions, it is nothing for me to take my money elsewhere.

Wish I could put no stars. Literally never posted a review anywhere, so had to create this to share this horrible experience.

So today the 3rd-party that Tropical outsourced it's credit cards to, decided to cancel my card and issue a new one without alerting me. All based on faulty information that even the smallest amount of digging would have shown was wrong. During an upcoming hurricane no less, in which the card could be useful.

So I had to basically beg Tropical for the 7-10 business days time it would take to deliver, to be now maybe 4 business days (impossible to overnight apparently, even though this was completely their fault), which would not count today, as it was past 5pm, even though I originally called around 2:15pm regarding the issue and I had to call back after work, when no one called me back as promised.
This is not the first time this credit union has completely messed up and failed this customer. I am about to reach 30 years as a customer, but I think the time has come for me to switch to a bank.

I will say the reps I spoke with at Tropical did the best with what they could and were professional and is not their fault as the front line person. It's Tropical as an institution that has deteriorated through the years.
