I was impressed with both the company and with the agent with whom I worked - Matthew Garrett. I highly recommend Mutual of Omaha and especially their agent, Matthew Garrett, a reverse mortgage specialist! I found Matthew to be so refreshing and a RARE GEM where customer service lately has all but ceased to exist!

Matthew was extremely patient with all my questions (and I had many!) Yet I never felt any irritation or annoyance from him. He truly seemed to want to be helpful…to be of good service. Matthew was always very quick to respond - even during non-business hours! Matthew appeared very knowledgeable, and when unsure of an answer, he sought answers and got back to me right away. I greatly appreciated Mr. Garrett’s sincerity and integrity.

Matthew Garrett went the extra mile to help me to feel comfortable during the reverse mortgage process. He went to bat for me and was able to get me a good rate and more money back than expected. He always had a very positive attitude and was friendly in a professional way. I felt secure and comfortable with Matthew, and a couple of times he even gave me information before I even asked for it, anticipating my needs. I was truly impressed!

I can see why Mutual of Omaha is rated so highly for reverse mortgages when they have someone like Matthew Garrett working for them!

The communications especially from Deborah Cerne were without question timely and on point. She was extremely personable and nonjudgmental. She explained everything thoroughly and did not pressure me at all. I received a second quote from another company. Their rates were comparable. Deborah in turn came back to me with even better rates. When making a huge decision like this every financial point is of significance. I felt extremely pressured by the other company and never felt that pressure with Deborah. Another factor that made a difference in my decision was that Mutual of Omaha does NOT sell their accounts, the other company did meaning I would not know who my lender was and that would not sit well with me.
