My first time working with D&S financial services was a great experience. I usually use turbo tax to file every year and I didn’t like my return that I was getting in 2021. So I went to D&S and my tax preparer Erik work on it and got my maximum return as he said he would . He was prompt always reached out to me tell me what my status was on return. HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE!

I was referred to Ken Smith with D&S and had a questionable and horrible experience from start to finish.

I sent my initial email requesting a quote. I received a response almost immediately. The quote was the largest I’ve ever been quoted. I questioned the accuracy and he assured me I would not be audited or wearing orange. He said the government was giving a credit for Sick Leaves.

After reviewing the first quote, I noticed my sons information was never included on the return. I provided this info to Ken in my initial email. Mistake number one. His excuse was he smokes a lot and he forgets.

I also noticed that I was filed as Single and HOH, I questioned that and he said it wasn’t necessary.

He then added my sons name and rectified the matter. So I thought.

Today; I felt led to check my IRS Transcript and Wheres My Refund. I was audited. I spoke with the IRS and a local tax preparer and was informed that my return was not properly filed.

I made contact with Ken this morning before this expressing grievance with his lack of communication and delays and requested he refers me to someone in his firm to assist me. He was apologetic but unaware of what the IRS was doing. This was always the response.

After learning what was happening I requested a Schedule C/Schedule 3 and my complete return. He could only provide a Schedule 3. The Schedule C was/is needed bc Ken used the Sick Leave credit adding additional income to my return. This indicated that I was self employed and paid taxes on a business (1099). When I called him on it, he denied doing it until I told him I had him recorded, then it was classified as a mistake.

In conclusion Ken shifted blame and said that I approved it, so I’m barking up the wrong tree. He offered to fix his “mistake”. I declined. This is now the third “mistake”.

He is the tax professional. It is his duty to complete returns accurately and thoroughly. His fee was 3800. That cost alone should guarantee great-integral service. When I brought this to him, I learned I was blocked.

Not only have I had this horrible experience with Ken other clients have shared the same.

… If that wasn’t enough. My refund was received on 3/23 to Ken’s bank. In a way much lesser form. I have not received a dime.

Please never ever use him for your business!

Please, do not use him for your taxes. He is unprofessional and ridiculous. He unblocked me to go off, and when I blocked that number he texted from a different number. It’s harassment.
